Autonomous AI Agent & Dynamic Analytics
Deploy multi-step clinical reasoning agents to synthesize longitudinal patient charts, cross-reference clinical datasets, and generate real-time demographic visual charts.
Medaius's Autonomous AI Agent goes beyond conversational chat. By toggling ⚡ Agent Mode, clinicians and healthcare administrators can delegate complex, multi-step clinical investigations, cross-specialty chart syntheses, and real-time demographic analytics to an autonomous reasoning engine.
1. Enabling ⚡ Agent Mode
In the header of the Moti AI workspace (whether in full-page mode or the side drawer), toggle the ⚡ Agent Mode switch:

When Agent Mode is active:
- The input badge highlights with an active lightning bolt icon (
⚡). - Moti AI shifts from single-turn retrieval to multi-step autonomous execution, orchestrating parallel database lookups, cross-referencing diagnostic ledgers, and validating clinical criteria.
- The interface displays intermediate reasoning steps so clinicians can observe the agent's logic progression in real time.
2. Multi-Step Patient Record Synthesis
When evaluating a complex or multimorbid patient, clinicians often need a unified synthesis of disparate clinical domains. With Agent Mode, a single prompt triggers an automated cross-chart investigation:
Example Clinical Inquiry
"Can you synthesize this patient's active medical conditions, documented allergies, recent vital signs, and recent imaging impressions?"
Autonomous Execution Pipeline
- Context Identification: Resolves the
@mention to the patient's unique electronic health record identifier. - Problem Ledger Retrieval: Queries active problem lists, onset dates, and chronic disease registries.
- Allergy Cross-Referencing: Pulls documented drug allergies, severity levels, and adverse reaction types.
- Longitudinal Vitals Assessment: Fetches blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation, and BMI trajectories.
- Document AI Correlation: Inspects the patient's uploaded documents (including recent chest radiographs or lab panels) for abnormal diagnostic impressions.
- Clinical Synthesis: Assembles the findings into a cohesive, prioritised clinical briefing with immediate risk factors highlighted.
3. Dynamic Practice Analytics & Visual Charting
Clinic directors and practice managers can prompt the Autonomous Agent to compute practice-wide population statistics and render interactive visual graphics on demand:
Interactive Demographic Visualizations
Prompting the agent with queries such as:
"Show a demographic breakdown of our clinic patients by age group and gender."
Triggers an autonomous analytics calculation:
- Aggregates active patient records across the clinic database.
- Bins patient demographics into standard statistical brackets (
0–17,18–35,36–50,51–65,65+). - Dynamically renders interactive horizontal and vertical bar charts directly in the chat stream, complete with exact patient counts and percentage distributions.
Quality Measure Auditing
Administrators can run conversational population health audits:
- Identify diabetic patients without an HbA1c test within the past 12 months.
- Quantify hypertensive patients with blood pressure readings exceeding target guidelines.
- Audit pediatric immunization compliance across the practice cohort.
4. Clinical Safety & Governance Safeguards
Autonomous execution in healthcare requires uncompromising safety boundaries:
[!IMPORTANT] Read-Only Autonomous Reasoning: The Autonomous Agent executes complex analytical queries in a strictly sandboxed, read-only mode. It cannot alter patient diagnoses, place prescription orders, or modify billing ledgers without direct clinician initiation and cryptographic signature.
- Verifiable Citation Trails: Every synthesis explicitly links to the underlying clinical records (e.g., specific encounter dates, document IDs, or vital sign timestamps).
- Audit Logging: All agent reasoning workflows and database queries are logged for compliance monitoring and clinical quality reviews.
- Tenant Isolation: Population analytics are strictly quarantined to your clinic's authorized organization boundary.
